1426387_10101963406015568_30283618_nI am a creative communications professional with more than 10 years of varied experiences in business, athletics, education and non-profit organizations. I have been successful at running highly-visible and successful print and digital communications projects and social media strategies to increase the visibility and branding initiatives at local, regional and national levels.

Originally from Grants, New Mexico, I arrived in Denver after spending 10 years working and studying in Texas. I am a proud graduate of Texas Tech University, where I received two bachelor’s degrees — public relations and Spanish — and a master’s degree in mass communications.

During my 10-year span as a communications professional, I have had a wide array of experience having worked in several areas of communications, including college athletics, non-profit and education. I currently work as a member of the Web Communications team for Denver Public Schools (DPS), and assist in the development and execution of the district-wide digital strategy, including the oversight of DPS social media, updates to www.dpsk12.org, and development and strategic planning of school and department websites. I joined Team DPS in September 2013, and initially served as the communications specialist for DPS Transportation Services.

Before arriving in Colorado, I worked on the Communications and Planning Team as the multimedia communications specialist for Klein Independent School District (ISD) in Houston, where I was the primary writer, graphic designer, brand supervisor and social media/web manager. Other companies I have had the pleasure to be a part of their communications teams include: ESC Region 12 in Waco, Big 12 Conference in Dallas, and Texas Tech Athletic Communications.

I have a passion for communications and customer service, and I am very blessed to be able to share this passion with others.
